Antique Authentic Restored Butcher-Block, “Michigan Hard Rock Birdseye Maple” in Gillies Bay, British Columbia for sale

Authentic antique Butcher Block circa 1933 - 1940 from a family farm near Carman, Manitoba. The table was used to butcher pork raised on the farm until the mid-1970s when the farm changed over to grain production.
* Size: 30.5"(77cm) wide, 30.5"(77cm) deep, 29"(73cm) high.
* Made of "Michigan Hard Rock Birdseye Maple", vertically double-dove-tailed (patented as "wood-welded") not a glue-up, with original iron bolts and original Oak "wood-welded" peg-legs.
* Also included are a set of 3" leg extension/protectors, typically bought or made "after-market" to match the butchers height and protect the bottom of the legs.
* The style, shape and dimensions indicate it is a "Michigan Maple Block Co." product made between 1933 and 1940, currently known as the Maple Block Company of Canada in Sault Sainte Marie Ontario. The wood was obtained from the attached mill called the "Soo Mill" which opened in 1915 by the Hollingsworth family and harvested maple from southern Ontario. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=377jgAJtFIA
* The "Double Dovetail" method of lamination, exclusive to the Wood Welded Companies, has been deeply ingrained in our company culture since the early 1900s. In fact, there is only one machine left in operation today, the Linderman Joiner, capable of creating double-dovetail construction. Functionally, double-dovetail is the most durable lamination method available today. It's built with interlocked end-grain blocks, the best design for chopping, cleaving, slicing and heavy use. Double-dovetail butcher block is built with the Linderman joiner, which tools both the male and female edges, applies glue and slides each individual piece together. The machine also tapers the dovetails, so that as the pieces slide together, resistance is increased until it is virtually impossible to separate the planks.
* Finished in Non-Toxic food grade Shellac Sealer followed by pure Carnauba Wax rubbed in and polished.
* It is very heavy, over 100 lbs. but 2 people or a floor car-jack can move it around.
